2-Page Spread

Any of your pictures can be used as a background for a two-page spread.   Just drag a picture from the Image Browser to a page (but not onto a frame), and when asked “How to drop?” click Two-Page Spread Background.

Use the Picture Toolbar to layout your page.

1. Click the add picture frame button  then click and drag to create a photo frame.
2. Click and drag a photo from the book pictures tray into an empty photo frame or replace an existing photo.
3. Click the add/edit caption button and click and drag to create a caption/text box.
4. Click the drop shadow button  to add or remove a drop shadow.

Adjusting Pics

To adjust the placement of a picture within its frame: select the picture, place your cursor upon the “picture placement icon”  located on the center of the picture and drag the image left, right, up or down within the frame.

Pictures can also be cropped within frames. To do so: click to select the photo and click the “Zoom In/Zoom Out" buttons / .  Once cropped, you can adjust the picture placement within its frame, as explained above.  To rotate an image or text box to any angle, select a frame and then click the free rotate arrows  in the center of the frame and drag to rotate.

Filters

To apply a filter to a picture: select a picture and choose one of the three filter buttons (color , B&W  or sepia ) from the Image Toolbar.  You can also choose to fade an image: select a photo then click the image fading icon .  With your cursor slide the control until you reach your desired transparency.

Alignment

You can assure that your pictures will be properly aligned with each other, as well as relative to the page by using the Show Grid and Snap to Grid controls located under the View menu.  To adjust grid spacing, use the Setup Grid control.

Custom Cover

The design process for the cover of your photo book is the same as for the interior pages, except that you cannot use separate backgrounds for the front & back covers, nor can you see the front & back covers at the same time.  Otherwise, frames captions, grids, and so on behave exactly as they do within the book.

Note that the picture wraps around the photo book, front to back.

You may layout additional photos and text as you desire on the front and back covers using the same design techniques as the inside pages.

Title Page

You can create a title page or a page that is all text anywhere in you photo book. Just click the add text/caption icon , Drag to create a box on your page and enter your text. Keep in mind that all text in each box will have the same font, color and size. You will need to create additional text boxes in order to change these items.

You can also copy text from a document and paste it into a caption box. To do so; create a caption box, copy the text from the desired source then use Ctrl V to paste your selection into the caption box.
